Equality South West works exclusively around equality, diversity and human rights. We are engaged with key regional and national equality organisations and networks and are at the leading edge of our field. We've a wealth of experience of working at all levels from Board members to frontline staff and community groups, across the public, private and civil society sectors. Current Training Opportunities
Demystifying Equality (follow up workshop) Tuesday 13th December 10am till 1pm at East Reach House, Taunton.
In Brief: A ½ day practical workshop to equip you with the tools, concepts and definitions you need to be confident to apply equality and human rights principles in employment and service provision.
Costs: £60 Individuals and VCS / £80 Public and Private organisations
This course is aimed at managers and HR professionals in your organisation who need to be confident in their understanding and application of the Equality Act 2010.
What will my organisation get out of it?
By the end of this course your learners will understand:
- What 'human rights' in the UK means and 'myth busting';
- How to ensure equality in recruitment (via adverts, positive action and monitoring);
- A recommended approach to conducting equality analysis including EqIAs;
- What an inclusive workplace looks and feels like - equality and diversity in action;
- Review and discussion of your organisation's equality statement.
