Gender (Fair Play South West)
From Equality South West
Fair Play South West is a regional equality network which aims to represent the interests and views of women and work for gender equality
The focus of Fair Play South West's work is:
- To widen membership to embrace local women's organisations and networks in the South West and to support their development if needed
- To provide expertise to Equalities South West (ESW) on gender equality issues
- To contribute to reference groups, committees and partnerships where we can usefully bring specialised knowledge and expertise to an understanding of gender relationships/issues
- To respond to national consultations on matters of relevance to women, providing a link between local networks and national policy making
- To support campaigns and lobbying to further women's equality, particularly in relation to priorities agreed by the members
Fair Play South West's vision is economic and social equality for women in the South West within the context of the wider equalities agenda.
Fair Play South West is run by a Board of up to twelve voting members according to a written constitution agreed by the members. There may also be non-voting co-opted Board members to fill gaps in expertise. Eight of the twelve places on the Board are reserved for representatives of women's networks or organisations across the wide geography of the south west.

Network Priorities
Join Us
We would like to hear from all women's organisations and individuals who are interested in joining us so that we can build a strong network which will include voices from across all the policy areas
With you, and through you, we would want to influence policy and strategy in the South West and work alongside other equality organisations via Equality South West
In the longer term we would hope that such a network could offer a range of services to organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors.
