Roundtable event on the UN Committee Against Torture - 7th February 2012
From Equality South West
About the Roundtable event on the UN Committee Against Torture event
As you may know the UK government has recently submitted its Fifth Periodic State report to the United Nations Committee Against Torture (CAT). Current expectations are that the Committee's examination will be in November 2012. On that basis the Committee will decide its "list of issues" (priorities) in May. The Committee welcomes submissions from interested parties on what they believe the current issues facing the United Kingdom are in relation to torture and cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission would like to bring together organisations to discuss what the most important issues are and to find positive ways of influencing the process.
