GRTHM 2009
Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities across Britain will be celebrating their second Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History month in June 2009 following the successful event of last year.
Across the South West, Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities will be working in partnership with schools, councils and other public, community and voluntary organisations to creatively challenge the many myths and stereotypes that blight Gypsy, Roma and Traveller lives.
For more information on what’s happening across the UK visit the official Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month 2009 website: http://www.grthm.co.uk/
History Month in the South West
To support Gypsy, Roma and Traveller Communities in the region, Equality South West have been working with communities and organisations from across the region to coordinate and promote the establishment of local and regional events in celebration of History Month in the South West.
The are many committed community groups and organisations across the South West who decided that in 2009 we are going to make a difference and celebrate Gypsy, Roma and Traveller culture by organising a coordinated programme of events to take place as part of History Month in June.
